Lol, I usually get that when I'm a monk. What I do, is I heal the entire party except that person. They usually shut up really quick when they keep dying and the rest of the team start whining at THEM.

Sometimes, after that, they tell me 'Told you mine was better'.
I don't know why they get so angry when I ping my build then, XD.

Hey, if the monster dies in 3 seconds and after than I keep 95% energy, who cares which build I used?
Ehehe, I do that all the time! Usually it's not worth arguing and you just do whatever the hell you want anyway.

Yeah, this is the reason I have decided not to return to DoA without a full guild/alliance group again. ever since the 2xSS/LB weekend everyone who has maxed their LB thinks they're leet and can do DoA. Really, 2.5 hours to do ONLY Foundry & City due to stupid arrogant pug deaths is not OK.

I'm one of those people who is pretty much always a leader, normally being appointed by the party since I'm decisive. No matter how much you try to help some people succeed in such high end places, they always think they know better and get themselves killed and blame it on the rest of the party.

Even when you think you can avoid it in your alliance, I logged on the other week to hear a couple of complaints about an alliance member calling others noobs. I logged on as a lesser used character and suffered the same accusations of being a noob despite them not knowing who the person behind the character was. needless to say it resulted in me releasing their whole guild from the alliance as decent people should not have to put up with that kind of arrogance.

I have the same reasoning everywhere on the internet. There's millions of people on the internet and you do not NEED to tolerate the idiots out there. Effective use of the kick/ignore button can save a lot of people a lot of stress.

If someone is annoying to the point where I don't want to remain in the party to finish what we're doing, I make it clear to everyone the reason that I'm leaving and that they can thank them for the party failure.

Ask them nicely how they would've done it.

1. 99% gives a GO RED ENGINE response, say that they are wrong and why. Rinse, repeat.
2. 1% gives a good, ragequiting, but right response. Ask them to have more patience and advise the group next time. (if they wont, see 1, rinse, repeat)

I tell them to find healing/protection/restoration elsewhere then stop healing them. If on a melee profession I kick back, relax, and watch them take all the aggro and let them (fail to) deal with it.

It's quite simply really - karma. What goes around comes around.

Turn off chat. Or if I'm in Spamadan, turn on trade chat.

OP: You're bad.

(j/k)

Seriously, though: ask yourself the following questions:

1) What is your relative experience level? He/she/it may be right.

2) Any past behavior that can guide you? I tend to discount claims by players of cookie-cutters that a build is "optimal", even if it wins. Claims uninformed by theory are almost always wrong. "It's good and everyone else does it" is not a justification for any argument.

3) Point #2 doesn't necessarily hold when it comes to HOW to play a given bar. The cookie-cutter player may get a lot more mileage out of the same 8 skills than you, and this may be why this player wins matches/has an ego.

4) The only way to distinguish whether or not other people are right in their claims is to learn the theory of the game. If this isn't for you, either learn to grin and bear it, ignore them, learn to defuse the situation with humor or uninstall. Any other alternative usually makes you at least as much of an idiot in the minds of other players observing the interaction.

lol, yeah, it certainly used to for me when I pugged. Southpark quotes for the most part, esp : "Mckay, Mr Mackey." or "Imps are bad, children, mckay? Don't do imps, mckay. Cause imps are bad."

If in a group with a retarded leader - either leave (usually) or if I'm bored, I stay and do my very best to sabotage them.

If leader - I ask for builds, if people ping shit builds I explain to them why it doesn't work and what builds DO work. If they accept the new build, good. If they refuse, /kick.

Since you are playing in a team, you should at least listen to the leader.
If you are the leader and someone does not listen and keep a crap build: kick.
If you are not the leader and you want to run whatever you want, start your own team.
When I lead, I expect people to know what they are doing.
Part of the selection in PUG is their build. Not that I always want cookie cutter, but a build should at least look like it could work in the team.
If you want to experience Guild Wars your way and with your (in my opinion insufficient) build, please do so but not in my team.
Elitism? One could call it that way.
However, since Hard Mode is less forgiving and I play HM most of the time I think I am allowed to do so.
Not because I don't like you, but because there are 6 other players that also want to get things done.
Please keep in mind that I am very easy on builds, I even allow players without Elite skills if the rest of the build fits in the team.
I do understand that players might not have capped certain Elites.
I can work around that, even in Hard Mode.
But failing to produce a build that fits in the team is a good reason for a kick

heh, I chalk it up to us all playing a game that lends itself to people that are considerably younger than me, and that in time they will learn how to act around other humans
